How they’re disrupting
Fundamentally, Pointr makes venues “smart”. Its dashboard allows routes to be customised via products or locations, boosting advertising and sales. In comparison to its main competitors it is more lightweight, scalable and affordable, and uses Bluetooth rather than relying on WiFi.
The indoor location market is currently worth $11 billion. By 2020, the indoor location market should be worth $55 billion. Indoor location technology is where WiFi was 10-12 years ago, and will be becoming an industry standard in the near future.
Investments and future
Pointr has received seed funding in 2014 from a private angel investor and has even since been self sufficient through revenue sales. With offices already in London, Istanbul, Dubai and Hong Kong, Pointr is currently fund raising Series A to fuel their global growth.
